How to Determine the Value of Antique Oil Paintings?
Antique Oil Paintings describe the story of a time gone by! They attract us because of its beauty and its value. Old things always cost more. Therefore, Antique Oil Paintings by renowned artists are indeed very expensive. Copies of famous and popular works by these artists are available in shops and museums and are easily recognized by most of the people around the world. Let's look more at antique oil paintings.
It is considered that oil painting was first used in Afghanistan in between the fifth and the ninth centuries. However, it did not get popular until sometime during the fifteenth century. Traditional artists use canvas made from Linen which was expensive. Other popular but less expensive canvases used by them were produced from cotton fabric.
Paintings by legendary artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Boticelli, Picasso, Michelangelo, etc are known for their style and beauty. These arts are not affordable by normal public. However, replicas of the famous paintings are being reproduced and are available at a less price. These can be found in antique shops and vintage stores. They are available for purchase at online stores too.
People who are not concerned about the authenticity, usually prefer forgeries or reproduced world classic paintings. Fake paintings are the curse of the masterpieces of the well-known artists. Chemical analysis and tests for determining the age and origin is the only way to prevent the forgeries.
The value of the painting is determined by its age. The age and origin of an oil painting can be calculated by chemical analysis of the paint used in the art. These tests can determine whether the painting is genuine or a forgery. To find out the age of the painting, there are many tests available; some of which can be done at home as well. Examples of these tests are evaluating the "craquelure" (checking the cracks on the paint layer), looking for the pigments and hue of the colors, checking the protective varnishes etc.
Understanding of the internal chemistry of oil paint systems at the different stages in their lifetime lets you test the authenticity of the oil paintings from your home. In older days, artists used to give a layer of varnishes to protect the painting. Analysing the material the painting was done on will give a picture about its age. Understanding the colors used, their combinations, theme of painting, any signature on the paint etc help us find out the period the work was done.
An alternative way to test an oil painting is to take it to an art specialist, or art gallery or art museum in your town. They will have professional ways of testing it and finding out the authenticity of the arts. They use technologies such as Infra Red Reflectography, Wood's light, Stereoscopic Microscope, etc to calculate the age of an art.
Traditional ways of sketching a work of art differentiates it from modern paintings and therefore antique oil paintings have their own place in the world of art.

Necessary Items To Bring To An NFL Football Game
There is arguably nothing better than attending an NFL football game and experiencing all of the excitement surrounding this sporting event in person. For those who are unsure as to what to bring to the game, there are a few necessary items which all fans and spectators should not be without.
Proper Attire
First and foremost, one who attends an NFL football game should wear the appropriate attire to ensure that their experience is a pleasurable one. Fans should wear comfortable clothing that is in keeping with the climate and weather. For example, if one is going to an NFL football game in the North, they should wear warm clothing and make it waterproof if snow or rain is a factor and the stadium is outdoors. On the other hand, one who goes to a Miami Dolphins game should dress comfortably in clothing which they will stay cool wearing.
Tailgating Items
Tailgating is a great pastime to take advantage of when going to an NFL game. This entails gathering in the stadium parking lot, chatting with other fans and eating some great tailgating food. One who is going to tailgate prior to the game should bring a cooler, food, beverages and any items necessary to cook their food. Many stadiums allow individuals to use portable grills in the parking lots which makes tailgating that much better.
Cash for Souvenirs and Food Inside the Stadium
Lastly, an individual who is going to an NFL game should make sure that they have enough cash on hand to buy certain items during the game. Items such as food, drinks and souvenirs are available for purchase inside football stadiums and fans should be sure to have cash handy to buy these items as many concessions do not take credit cards.

How to Decorate a Masculine Bachelor Pad
Most home design publications are directed at women, but there are many men who want to decorate their homes too. These men are not looking for pastel walls or shelves full of miniatures. They want to avoid floral color schemes but they want something interesting and exciting to add character to their homes. Decorating a masculine bachelor pad can actually be a lot of fun when you get creative.
If you are looking for the perfect masculine makeover for your home, you should begin by browsing some magazines for ideas. Avoid the trendy home decorating magazines and go after the magazines you would actually subscribe to. Look at the advertisements and see the rooms used as backdrops for photo shoots. Do any of these designs peak your interest? Get an idea of the things you like and dislike. This will make choosing your decorating elements much easier.
Next, you should take a close look at your current room design. Notice if you have any fabulous features that you can play up with the design. Do you have beautiful architectural elements? Are your floors covered in natural wood or stone? Look for the positive so you can accent it.
While women usually redesign rooms from top to bottom, men should redesign rooms from bottom to top. Begin by selecting a rug to use as a focal point. Comfort is important in bachelor pads, so choose something soft that you will enjoy stepping on. You can go with any color you like but keep your lifestyle in mind. Solid colored rugs are ideal for masculine rooms and white rooms make a great statement against the typical stainless steel or black furniture. However, if you have pets or don't like to vacuum, you should probably choose a beautiful rug in a dark color to hide dirt.
Next, you should focus on your wall color. Paint is the quickest way to transform a room for girly to masculine. Choose a color that will evoke the energy you desire in your space. Choose dark blue for a calming effect or green if you love the outdoors. You could also use a bold red to provoke an energetic, passionate sensation. Avoid busy color schemes or wallpapers that will quickly become outdated.
Add some curtains to your windows to soften the effects of bold colors. Choose simple valances or panels in solid colors or stripes to continue with the masculine theme. You should coordinate the colors of your curtains with your rug, if at all possible. This will draw attention from the floor to the ceiling, tying the entire color scheme together.
Finally, choose some wall art to jazz up the space. You can choose any theme you want for your wall décor, but avoid posters. Choose nicely framed prints to create a sophisticated bachelor pad, as opposed to a college boy's dorm room. If you must use posters, place them in nice frames before you hang them up. You could also hang photos of old cars or airplanes. You could also display vintage baseball cards or football helmets on the walls with the help of display cases or shelves. Get creative to personalize your masculine room design according to your tastes and interests.
Home Design has never been so affordable with these authentic shag rugs.

About Cricket
There are a large number of sports that are enjoyed by people across the world including but not limited to cricket, hockey, squash, baseball, basket ball, volleyball, table tennis, football, and badminton etc. irrespective of the sport you prefer, its importance in keeping the mind and body energized and healthy cannot be undermined. On one hand, cricket is the national sports and favorite sport of a large number of nations around the world. On the contrary, a number of nations still find it very puzzling. However, this confusion has been addressed to a large extent because of the advent of the globalization era since various cricket related websites are aiming to fill this information gap.
Cricket is a sport that is played by both children and adults in narrow alleys, corridors, gardens, playgrounds and palatial stadiums. Although it was known as the gentleman's game, a large number of women's teams have been formed and are playing cricket across the world. As mentioned above, cricket is the most popular sport in Asia with India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh being some of the strongest professional cricket teams in the world. Almost all popular teams have won the cricket world cup at one time or another in the past few decades. Each team has a total of eleven players. The players need a cricket kit including but not limited to bats, ball, stumps, knee pads, helmets etc. In certain countries, cricket players are given celebrity status and earn millions of dollars per year in product endorsements etc.
Over the years, this sport has evolved. Before 1990s, cricket used to have a four ball over which was then changed to a six ball over. Eight ball overs were also tried in some countries. Earlier test matches were way more popular than one day matches and Twenty20 cricket which is a more recent phenomenon. Although each country has its own cricket board (such as Pakistan Cricket Board, Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sri Lanka Cricket, and Cricket Australia etc.) to oversee the national team's performance and ensure fair selection processes etc, International Cricket Council (ICC) is the body that performs the same functions at global level.
ICC was founded in 1909 and is responsible for all decisions regarding matches (between international and sometimes national teams), venues for major matches and tournaments like the World Cup etc. There are a number of clubs that play matches against each other often. English county cricket is a classic example of matches played between such clubs.

Party Themes For 12 Year Olds
Turning 12 years old is something your child looks forward to. It is the period of being in-between. Your child is no longer a child but is also one year shy from becoming a teenager.
Your child will only turn twelve once in his life. Give him a party to celebrate this joyous occasion. It is important that at this age, you ask your child on the kind of party he or she wants. After all, being twelve, the child already had developed his or her own interests. He is old enough to be included in the decision making process of the upcoming party.
Most 12 year old girls would prefer pajama parties or slumber parties for their birthdays. Others will request for a pool party with their classmates and friends. However, there are those who would like to treasure their last day as a child and go for the child-like theme parties.
For pool parties, it will be easier to rent a clubhouse or a hotel as a venue. Ask the guests to bring their own swim wears. And make sure to be compliant to the rules and regulations of the rented venue.
Another idea is to have a beauty pageant theme. The guests can also be the participants of the pageant. At twelve, these girls already love to dress up and starting to develop their own unique identities already.
For boys, here are some party theme ideas. The Knight Party is done in a venue that looks like a castle. Put shield and sword-shaped cut-outs onto the walls, making it look like a castle or a castle hallway. Improvised helmets and shields can be given to guests instead of the traditional party hats. There can also be a cake that resembles a castle with cone-shaped roofs and flags, as well as brick walls.
For activities, you can have a princess or a knight makeover station where guests can come for them to look like a knight in shining armor for the male ones, and a glamorous princess for the females.
The Army Party can resemble a military base or camp site where soldiers train. The wall of the venue is green or camouflaged, similar to the print of a soldier's uniform. You can also use images of bunkers, watchtowers and barbed wires to add to the army or soldier effect. The cake should have a soldier figurine with military vehicle toys or miniature replicas on it.
Guests may wear paper soldier helmets as a replacement for party hats. Roast food similar to what military people eat on camps. Snacks suck as cookies, candies and biscuits can be shaped like bombs, guns or little soldiers. Games may include a crawling race or a tug-o-war. For giveaways, it can be soldier figurines, toy tanks or army badge replicas.
The Airplane Party theme is a good choice for a birthday party for boys. Starting with the invitation, it should appear like an airplane ticket or an airline brochure. The venue's walls should have cloud images to create a sky ambiance. Hang airplane scale models in the ceiling to create an accent and serve as an added attraction for the guests. The cake can be likened to an airplane also, or designed with clouds. You can also serve white cotton candy that looks like clouds. Giveaways can be airplane toy figures or stuffed toys.

Field Hockey Warm-Up Drills
Before starting any sports practice or game, you must make sure to run a thorough warm-up that gets players both physically and mentally ready to play. A good warm-up routine includes both a cardiovascular component such as running and a series of stretches that highlight the muscles used most during the sport in question.
The following field hockey warm-up drills are an excellent addition to any warm-up routine since they emphasize the basic skills of the game while getting the joints moving and the blood flowing to avoid later injury.
One thing I've noticed in my years of coaching field hockey is that players hate running laps. So at our field hockey practices we've replaced running laps with a 5-minute long version of freeze tag. Tag is an excellent way to get players running around while keeping their minds more active than if they were simply running laps around the field.
After the cardiovascular section of your warm-up is completed, it is time for the stretching. I like to start off with head rolls and neck stretches and make my way down. If you have no experience leading a stretching routine, don't hesitate to contact other coaches or a certified yoga instruction for some guidance on which stretches are not to be missed for your field hockey team.
Hits and Misses
Once you've finished stretching your team's muscles, it is time to begin the field hockey warm-up drills. When selecting drills for your warm-up, look for simple drills that emphasize the basic skills of the game without pushing players too far--save that for the conditioning drills!
The first warm-up drill I like to use at my field hockey practices is a basic hitting drill, since the hit is hockey's most basic and useful skill. For this hitting drill, I divide my team into partners and have them stand facing each other 10 feet apart to start off with.
When running this and all other warm-up drills, the emphasis is on perfect form. For example, when hitting it is important to make sure the player's hands are firmly together near the top of the stick. Use the hands and wrists to bring the stick backwards, and the goal should be to hit the lower half of the ball when the stick is brought back down. Don't forget to follow though with the stick after the hit is completed. Another thing to remember is to keep the feet parallel to the direction you want the ball to go.
I have my players hit back and forth for 2 minutes at this distance, then I blow my whistle and have each player back up one giant step, repeating this process two more times before moving on to the next drill.
Push Pass Perfection
The next of the field hockey warm-up drills focuses on the push pass, which is a better way than hitting for moving the ball over large distances. Using the same partners as before, have your players stand anywhere from 20 to 40 feet apart and push pass to each other.
The form of the push pass differs slightly from that of the hit. For the push pass, players are to place their left hand near the top of the stick with the right hand further down. Keeping their eye on the ball with their knees bent, players are to shift their weight from the back foot to the front as contact is made with the ball. As with the hit, make sure to follow through completely. The follow through is complete when the stick is pointing towards the direction of the pass.

Metal Detectors For Sale - Will You Be Ripped Off?
Currently there is a vast range of metal detectors for sale. The wide choice is particularly overwhelming if you are a beginner. Because they all look very much the same, they probably all perform with similar results, correct? Incorrect!
Each metal detector will be manufactured with a special role in mind. So how are you supposed to pick the ideal detector?
To avoid wasting your hard-earned money on a metal detector that won't do what you need you should consider the following 3 fundamental points:
What are you trying to detect?
Each metal detector will do better at certain tasks than others. For instance, although you may use a gold nugget metal detector to also search for coins (and vice versa), you will have far more success by using a metal detector that was specifically designed for that goal. Firstly, you need to consider what is the major goal or target.
- Is your planned interest searching for coins and jewelry? You should buy a metal detector that comes with discrimination.
- Or maybe your goal is digging up historical artifacts or war relics? You will want a detector with excellent depth and large searchcoils.
- Got gold fever, and desire a metal detector to discover gold nuggets? A detector that features ground balancing is critical.
What location will you be hunting?
Individual models will perform differently according to the type of ground. Will you detect in demanding grounds like saltwater beaches or heavily mineralized ground? These ground types often cause some metal detectors to respond poorly and beep uncontrollably. So you need to get one designed for those conditions.
Maybe you want to be detecting shipwrecks? Many metal detectors feature waterproof coils (the disc that points to the ground) but their housings and electronics aren't waterproof unless specifically stated. So if you want to be discovering submersed treasure you need to buy a specially-designed underwater detector.
How much will you spend?
Now that you have established your main goals and locations you should shortlist the metal detectors for sale that are suitable. Finally, merely go through your shortlist to find the model that suits your budget. Once more, this should be your last step because unless you have determined your goals it is impossible to choose the correct metal detector.
Now you have learned to avoid wasting your money by picking out the right metal detector for the task. When reviewing metal detectors for sale you merely want to think about what your target is, the grounds you will be using, and the price of the detector.
But one question remains - finding the best metal detector for your purpose and desired price? Great news - we have created Buyer Guides to help you out.
If you are looking for a beach metal detector or a gold metal detector, or something else, just go through our Metal Detector Buyer Guides and get your perfect match!

Sports Nudity Bloopers
Who doesn't love watching athletes making mistakes? The media holds them up as gods and goddesses immaculate in their ways and the more fervent fans literally worship the sneakers they walk in. Some fans take sports too seriously. Other fans watch sports to catch those moments where the athletes are seriously embarrassed.
You can keep your mundane bloopers where the ball bounces of the head of the outfielder or the receiver tumbles into the opposing side's coach. The bloopers that can be truly harrowing to the athlete are the ones where flesh is shone. The sports nudity bloopers are the most embarrassing form of messing up on the field and each rare moment in which it happens takes egos down several pegs.
The events most likely to produce some sports nudity bloopers are the most physical and intense until something pops out. Men's soccer has a high probability of revealing more than the black and white checkered balls. Although a game played primarily with the feet, soccer players and not afraid to swing an elbow or grab a handful of shirt in order to seize the ball. Players soon hit the turf and start reaching around for anything on the way down, usually the shorts of the opposing player who while winning the ball pays for it in pride.
Another event infamous for its sports nudity bloopers is the one that claims to be the most manly: rodeo. The self-proclaimed cowboys tie themselves to a horse or bull for some eight seconds, get thrown off, and then have the nerve to talk trash about every other sport out there. Rodeo is the deadliest sport around because the whole idea is to survive several seconds tied to a one ton animal trying everything it can to drive a hoof through your face or a horn through your stomach. When errant horns or a horse's teeth start ripping clothes, there is no doubt that you have to be nuts to get into rodeo, but you also risk showing the world that not everything is big in Texas.
Women try hardest to maintain grace in sports by wearing sports bras and shorts. The extra support makes the inevitable slip all the more degrading when it happens. Women sweat through their pants in tennis and reveal a lot in gymnastics, but what if you want to see what's hidden behind the over-engineered, space-age material? Any sport with grappling such as mixed martial arts, judo, and wrestling have a high chance of a shirt getting pulled to the side and something popping out. If you're aiming to catch a flash, then cheerleading is where to look.
Cheerleaders are notorious for tantalizing the audience. Some teams go so far as to demand members remove their pants before hitting the field and show a bit more than spirit. You might think that wouldn't count as one of sports nudity bloopers, but I assure you those girls are coerced by peer and coach alike. Shameful and therefore funny.

How Fast Can Indy Cars Go? - Automobile Racing
Just how fast can Indy cars go? Well, to give you an idea, Indy cars can make it down the length of a football field plus some in less then one second. Jet airliners takeoff speeds are between 160 to 180 miles per hour. Throw some flaps or slats and a pair of wings on an Indy car, point it into the wind and there would be take off; that is how fast Indy cars can go.
Back in 1911 Ray Harroun won the very first Indianapolis 500 averaging just a hair under 75 mph. However, how fast can an Indy car go today? The average speeds of Indy cars today range from 185 to speeds over 230 miles per hour. Qualifying speeds range from 215 to 227 miles per hour. The lowest qualifying speed was recorded back in 1912 when Theodore Pilette ran 75.52 mph for a quarter mile. Back then, you had to run at least 75 mph in a quarter mile to qualify. Kenny Brack did the fastest speed recorded in qualifications at 227.598 mph in a quarter in 2005, followed up by Billy Boat in 2002, running a quarter at 226.589.
So when you ask how fast can Indy Cars go, think of this. Indy cars can accelerate from zero to 100 mph in less than three seconds and use up a gallon of gas in less then two miles. Drivers experience G-force while driving through turns on the track equal to what the space shuttle leaves a launching pad. At speeds of 220 miles per hour, Indy cars generate 5000 pounds of down force. At that speed the tread on the racing tires turn to tar like consistency helping car to adhere to the track.
Indy cars have evolved through time to higher levels of sophistication. In the beginning of the 20th century, speeds of 125 mph on the track where considered impressive. Rules have been modified as technology has improved with racing organizations ensuring the safety of both the drivers and the fans. With the strict rules and regulations, today's Indy cars are far safer then their earlier counter parts such as the roadsters designs.
In 2010, the Indy Racing League will be implementing new engine rules that will allow the return of turbocharged engines that will have a output of about 750 horsepower ; having either 4 or 6 cylinders. Current specifications in regulations are an output of 650 HP. The 3.5 liter Indy cars on a average produce more then 675 horsepower which is four times more then your average car. So when you question how fast can Indy cars go, averaging 220 mph is pretty fast, but we can expect to see even quicker acceleration and speeds on the raceways in the near future.
Wendy Pan is an accomplished niche website developer and author. To learn more about how fast can indy cars go [http://fastestcarsblog.info/how-fast-can-indy-cars-go-automobile-racing], please visit Fastest Cars Blog [http://fastestcarsblog.info] for current articles and discussions.

Break-In Your New BaseBall Or Softball Glove the Right Way
Getting a new Baseball or Softball glove always has advantages to it. With the glove comes hope that this glove will bring you better luck than your old one. It brings a new since of entitlement, this glove is yours and only yours to break in and cherish. The problem is everyone on Earth hates to break it in. It takes work and patience, but with my help, I can guide you to the most effective way to properly break in your glove. Follow these steps and I will get you on the field with it as soon as I can. Just follow the steps...
First step after purchasing your new pride and joy is to get an oil that your are comfortable with almost all gloves need oil unless they are vinyl or already oil injected. If your glove is one of these stay away from oiling because it would be over kill and would weigh the glove down too much.
So know your Glove.
Once you pick out the oil you like, read the instructions. Glove oils are like opinions, everyone has one and some vary on what to do. For now we will say you have one that states "To best apply conditioner, rub it liberally into the leather with your bare hands. Work it into every area including the laces and the inside of the glove where cracking generally takes place." What this basically means, is by rubbing the oil in with your hands it allows the oil to penetrate the leather for the best results. Grant it your hands get sticky but you know the oil is in the glove good. Do the whole glove including the inside and all the laces, the laces will stay soft and not get hard and brittle. A.K.A. BREAKABLE. The inside of the glove is important because that is where the sweat is. Over time that sweat eats through the glove, this will prevent that.
Second, take the glove and find to baseballs or softballs and a shoestring or piece of leather to tie the glove up. If it is a baseball glove, you take the first baseball and put it in the center of the pocket. Then take the next baseball and put it on top of the first ball. Then take the glove and go pinky finger to thumb. What that means, is the thumb should be a little exaggerated that way the pocket is deep not narrow and short. Then take whatever you have to tie the glove tight, I like to use a leather glove lace and tie it threw the middle of the glove. This way the glove is closed with the two balls of inside of it forming that deep pocket. Then tie a not and you are done for the night. The next day untie the not and take a dry cloth to the glove removing any excess oil. Then grab your Dad or a friend and play catch. At first, the glove will be stiff but you need to work with it. This takes some time but in the end, it will all be worth it because the glove will be broken in right. From here, all you can do is work with it, play catch, buy a glove mallet and beat on it or even just grab the pinky and thumb of the glove and tug it up and down repeatedly to loosen the leather.
Tips and Advice
- Go to a batting cage, put a token in and catch balls. (With a Helmet on)
- Buy a glove mallet, they usually have more weight to them, simulates a hard throw
- Next keep working the heel of the glove
- And finally play catch, play catch, play catch...
Things Not to Do
- Dip it in water, sure it loosens the glove but ruins it. That is why you don't leave it out in the rain.
- Bake it in the oven or microwave, ruins the lacing and leather forever!
- Run it over with the car
You would not believe all the stories I (Scott Mathewson) have heard over the years to quickly break in a glove while running my Prime Time Sporting Goods Shop. The fact remains that the best way to break in new baseball gloves is the old fashion way by playing catch. Any other method to accelerate the break in process is just a quick fix that will shorten the life of a glove.

Dale Earnhardt - The Intimidator
Dale Earnhardt got his name "The Intimidator" because of his driving skills on the race track. Ralph Dale Earnhardt was born on April 29th, 1951 in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Young Earnhardt grew up in a race car family and he began racing at local tracks at the age of 15. Dale did not care for school so he dropped out of high school his freshman year. Dale loved racing cars and made his first appearance on a professional race track on May 1975. Driving his personally built car he finished 22 in the World 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
In 1979 Dale Earnhardt signed with a racing car sponsor from California and got his first Winston Cup contract to drive in the National Association for Stock Car Racing (NASCAR). His first NASCAR win that year was in the Southwestern 500 at Bristol, Tennessee. Dale's first season on the track earned him over $200,000, the first rookie to ever earn that amount of cash and he was named the Rookie of the Year by NASCAR. The following year Dale Earnhardt won the Winston Cup Champion to become the only driver in NASCAR history to win both Rookie of the Year and the Winston Cup Championship in back to back seasons.
Dale Earnhardt's career spanned 20 years. His skills and competitive instinct gave him the hard driving style and the edge to become a champion in this highly dangerous sport. In his career racing in the NASCAR circuit, Dale won 76 races and 7 Winston Cup races. From the mid1980's through the 1990's Dale was one of the most popular athletes in America. His final triumph of his career was to win the Daytona 500 in 1998 in Daytona, Florida. This amazing man was loved by his fans that knew him as #3 "The Intimidator", "The Man in Black" and "Iron Head", but no matter what you call this man he will always be known as one of the greatest race car driver in NASCAR history. On February 18th Dale was killed in the 2001 Daytona 500 in the final lap of the race.

Don't Forget to Say Thank You for a Second Interview
The thank you letter for a second interview is a must for serious job seekers. If you've made it as far as a second interview, then you are right on the edge and are one of the serious candidates ready to be offered the position. When you're in that position then it is worth your while to use all of the leverage you have, all of your knowledge of the company and all of your job search skills to close the deal and land yourself a job offer. This letter can be a deal closer.
When engaged in a job search, even if it is not your profession, you are really serving as a salesman. The product you are selling is yourself, your skills, and the concept that you can help the company you are applying to. A professional salesman always tries to know his or her product well, and always does better in selling the product when he or she has a genuine belief in the value of the product. As a salesman of YOU this genuine belief in your value to the customer, the potential employer is essential.
If you've ever watched a sales representative for a radio station calling on customers you'll notice that certain tools are carried by the sales rep and used time and time again. One sales rep made a fortune selling commercials on major league baseball game broadcasts by walking into businesses carrying a baseball bat as a conversation starter. He's get the business owner excited about baseball and walk out with a signed contract. He did the same thing with major league football games by walking into a business carrying a football, or wearing a helmet. More conventional sales reps carry "leave behinds", brochures, price lists and other literature designed to perk the interest of the prospect.
As a job seeker sales person, the tools you will carry will not be baseball bats, football helmets or brochures and price lists. You will carry the personal marketing tools that benefit a conscientious job seeker. They include a resume, cover letter, follow up letter, reference sheet, salary history, letters of recommendation, thank you letter for after the interview, and the piece we are discussing, the thank you letter for a sub sequential interviews.
Your thank you letter should be short and to the point. As an example,
Date
Name
Company
Address
City
State
Zip
Dear Mr. Jones,

As you know, I am very serious about my work, and I believe that Xyz Company would be an excellent fit for my skills, experience, education and background.
If you have any further questions, please give me a call. I look forward to speaking with you further.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
John Doe
As you can see this letter that you send after meeting with an employer for the second time is short, simple and conveys the thoughts that you wish to get across. Try this letter when the chance arises and you'll have good results.

Offensive Linemen - Zone Blocking For Football
Zone blocking has become a very effective blocking scheme in football from the little leagues to the pros. It is primarily used to open up running lanes for the offense while taking away stunt and slant attacks and is increasingly used in the passing game. What makes zone blocking schemes so popular is its adaptability to almost any offense. What it does is take away the one on one blocking assignments for offensive linemen and puts them in more effective blocking strategies.
The offensive linemen in this scheme do not have to be the tallest, strongest or biggest linemen on the field. The type of offensive linemen zone blocking requires need to be more athletic, have good foot speed and movement. Coordination and technique are far more valuable that just strength and size.
This article will focus on what zone blocking is, why it works and 3 different types of zone blocks.
Instead of blocking the man in front of a guard, tackle or center the blocking assignments become zones. Offensive linemen must even learn to read the defense.
Purpose:
The main purpose of the zone it to outnumber the defensive players at the point of attack, neutralizing defensive stunts and slants.
Zones:
There are three basic zones, the inside zone, outside zone and the stretch zone.
1. Inside Zone: The play is inside the offensive tackle
2. Outside Zone: The play is outside the offensive tackle
3. Stretch: The play is inside the last offensive player.
Reading the Defense:
Offensive linemen must do more than just block, in the zone blocking scheme they must learn how to read the defense and assign a level to each of the defenders they face. They must determine if the defender is level 1 or a level 2 threat and if the offensive lineman is covered or uncovered.
1. First level threat: Any defender who by design of the defensive scheme appears to be a threat to a gap. What this means not only is the defensive linemen on the LOS a first level threat but any linebacker that is lined up two yards back from the LOS and appears to be ready to blitz a gap would have to be considered a first level threat.
2. Second level threat: This will be any defender who appears to be reading the flow of the play and will not be attacking the gaps on the snap of the ball.
3. Covered Lineman: The offensive lineman has a defender in front of him or he can tell a defensive player is assigned to him.
4. Uncovered Lineman: He has no one in front of him and does not appear to have some one assigned to him.
Zone Blocks:
1. Base Zone Blocking: The offensive lineman focuses his eyes on the playside numbers of the defender and explodes off the snap at the proper angle, the angle being where the defensive lineman lines up. The first step is done with the near foot; the second step should place the blocker square with the defensive player. As the blocker is stepping through the defender he wants to be punching both hands into the center of the target just as he does in a drive block.
2. Scoop block: This block is very effective for an outside stretch play. The Scoop blocks primary function is to cut off the pursuit of the defender. It begins with a level one defender and progresses to a level two. This block begins with eyes focused on the outside number of the defender and a strong push off on the inside foot. Contact should be made by the second step which is a cross over step. The offensive lineman wants to rip his inside arm to the play call side armpit of the defender, turning the defenders stomach up field then release to block the linebacker.
3. Fold Block (Trap block): In this example we will be using the right guard and right tackle. The fold block is usually called when a defensive lineman is lined up in the gap where the play is going. For our purposes the hole will be on the folding lineman's outside shoulder (R Guard) and the down-blocking lineman's (R Tackle) inside shoulder.
The down blocker must fire off the LOS on the snap, stepping up field in a lateral movement. His left leg should step in front of the defensive lineman and his face mask should be planted in the numbers while driving the opponent down the LOS.
The fold blocker, pausing for half a second, should step to his right scooping behind the down blocker, just grazing his before heading up field. Once contact is made with the linebacker the fold blocker wants to place his helmet just under the linebackers left arm driving him back Even if the fold blocker is not able to drive the linebacker back, he should have created the seal that allows the running back to make more yards.
In conclusion the zone blocking schemes for offensive linemen have produced stronger running games by utilizing the athletic talents of the line. Regardless of the type of offense you run, zone blocking can add power to your running game by stopping defensive slants and stunts and help improve the passing game. These were just a few of the zone blocks teams are using to gain more yards on the ground. Use the links below to see DVDs that can show you how to install zone blocking schemes into your offense.

Why Product Endorsement Deals Are So Important to Professional Athletes
Not all professional athletes make a lot of money such as those that participate in less traditional non revenue producing sports. In order to be able to be a professional athlete full time, many of these less popular athletes have to rely on the products and paychecks they receive from their sponsors and advertisers. Other athletes, that are in the limelight however, make a lot of money playing their sport and even more from their sponsorship deals. One of the first athletes to really do this was NBA player, Michael Jordan who used his basketball skills to promote several products as well as apparel, toys, products and even basketball videos with his name on them.
Wherever there is space to promote a sponsor, they will find a way to do it whether it is on the helmet of a professional NASCAR racer or in the form of a body tattoo to professional beach volleyball player Gabrielle Reece. Athletes are offered great package deals to promote a certain brand as a sort of spokesperson and in exchange they receive monetary and product compensation. For the lesser known athletes, this is very helpful to provide them with the extra income they need to be able to train full time. For other well paid athletes like professional baseball, basketball and football players it is just icing on the cake.
Michael Jordan was one of the first professional athletes to really be endorsed by various sponsors and he ended up making more from those endorsements than he did playing basketball. Certain businesses saw the total star power in Michael Jordan and knew he could make their product be noticed with him promoting it. One example was Gatorade which was a sports drink that had been around for quite a while but when they got Michael Jordan to endorse Gatorade, sales rose quickly and it became the top selling sports drink.
Now younger professional athletes that are making it to the big leagues see product endorsements as part of the package deal when they sign professionally. Many new athletes that are confident in themselves and their ability to sell items even hold out for multi million dollar contracts today. One example of that younger big time player is Le Bron James. He made it into the headlines for his basketball abilities saying he was the next Jordan when he was just a sophomore in high school playing in Akron, Ohio. Now he is one the biggest paid athletes with multiple endorsements.
The largest grossing professional athlete to receive the largest amount of endorsement deals in history is golfer, Tiger Woods. As an individual athlete, he is not paid by salary but rather by performance and how many big golf tournaments he wins. Because he has been such a high profile, successful and marketable player, his endorsements deals are earning him several million each year on top of his golf earnings. He also has lost several of these sponsors with the recent scandals of his many infidelities.
Coach Connor Sullivan operates a basketball web site that offers basketball videos training aids and coaching/instructional videos along with lots of free training advice. His brother ordered basketball skills aids and training aids videos from his website.

Who Invented Football?
Football is a word that is confusing and entertaining and a sport that epitomized the pride of a nation and the strength of an athlete. In other places, football is a game known as soccer in America. Football in America is where the quarterback throws the ball to a receiver and everybody is running around the gridiron. And football in Europe and other parts of the world means soccer, where guys run around the field tossing a ball around their knees and head. Whew! That was confusing. So who really invented football?
AMERICA
The "Father of American Football", Walter C. Camp was a football coach and a sports writer and the one who invented football. His name became is legend in the American Football history. He took the rugby game to the next level and invented football. He borrowed term from the rugby game and applied it to football; in rugby, five guys lined-up and are called scrum; in football, he change the five guys to seven guys forming the offensive line, this is called the Line of Scrimmage. Get it? Scrum and scrimmage?
CANADA
Some claims the football is truly a Canadian game and it was a Canadian who invented football. Invented by the replacement for British troops entering Quebec in the 1600's. Canadian Universities then introduced the game to American Colleges. It is said that by the time America first heard of football, Canada already has their professional football league of sorts.
CHINA
Some say that football was invented by Chinese a thousand years ago. The ancient Chinese were said to have kick a ball back and forth for exercise and amusement. It is said that the English only re-invented the sport after explorers visited this far away land. So was it really the Chinese who invented football?
ROMANS
They say it all started in Rome. Romans started playing football quite differently at that time, it is said that they originally toss and throw the pig's head around staking a claim on it. They found it fun and engaging thus it became a sport and thus it was them who invented football.
ENGLAND
It was the English who invented the football, or did they? It has been reported that forms of football were played as early as 1200 in England. As evidence, they pointed out a game seen played in ancient Greece, it is believed to be the predecessor of football. But this game is said to be forbade by The King Henry VI and by the 19th century, it was split into two games; the soccer and the rugby. And because American football evolved from the rugby, the English are basically staking a claim on both football sports.
