How to Decorate a Masculine Bachelor Pad

Most home design publications are directed at women, but there are many men who want to decorate their homes too. These men are not looking for pastel walls or shelves full of miniatures. They want to avoid floral color schemes but they want something interesting and exciting to add character to their homes. Decorating a masculine bachelor pad can actually be a lot of fun when you get creative.

If you are looking for the perfect masculine makeover for your home, you should begin by browsing some magazines for ideas. Avoid the trendy home decorating magazines and go after the magazines you would actually subscribe to. Look at the advertisements and see the rooms used as backdrops for photo shoots. Do any of these designs peak your interest? Get an idea of the things you like and dislike. This will make choosing your decorating elements much easier.

Next, you should take a close look at your current room design. Notice if you have any fabulous features that you can play up with the design. Do you have beautiful architectural elements? Are your floors covered in natural wood or stone? Look for the positive so you can accent it.

While women usually redesign rooms from top to bottom, men should redesign rooms from bottom to top. Begin by selecting a rug to use as a focal point. Comfort is important in bachelor pads, so choose something soft that you will enjoy stepping on. You can go with any color you like but keep your lifestyle in mind. Solid colored rugs are ideal for masculine rooms and white rooms make a great statement against the typical stainless steel or black furniture. However, if you have pets or don't like to vacuum, you should probably choose a beautiful rug in a dark color to hide dirt.

Next, you should focus on your wall color. Paint is the quickest way to transform a room for girly to masculine. Choose a color that will evoke the energy you desire in your space. Choose dark blue for a calming effect or green if you love the outdoors. You could also use a bold red to provoke an energetic, passionate sensation. Avoid busy color schemes or wallpapers that will quickly become outdated.

Add some curtains to your windows to soften the effects of bold colors. Choose simple valances or panels in solid colors or stripes to continue with the masculine theme. You should coordinate the colors of your curtains with your rug, if at all possible. This will draw attention from the floor to the ceiling, tying the entire color scheme together.

Finally, choose some wall art to jazz up the space. You can choose any theme you want for your wall décor, but avoid posters. Choose nicely framed prints to create a sophisticated bachelor pad, as opposed to a college boy's dorm room. If you must use posters, place them in nice frames before you hang them up. You could also hang photos of old cars or airplanes. You could also display vintage baseball cards or football helmets on the walls with the help of display cases or shelves. Get creative to personalize your masculine room design according to your tastes and interests.

Home Design has never been so affordable with these authentic shag rugs.

About Cricket

There are a large number of sports that are enjoyed by people across the world including but not limited to cricket, hockey, squash, baseball, basket ball, volleyball, table tennis, football, and badminton etc. irrespective of the sport you prefer, its importance in keeping the mind and body energized and healthy cannot be undermined. On one hand, cricket is the national sports and favorite sport of a large number of nations around the world. On the contrary, a number of nations still find it very puzzling. However, this confusion has been addressed to a large extent because of the advent of the globalization era since various cricket related websites are aiming to fill this information gap.

Cricket is a sport that is played by both children and adults in narrow alleys, corridors, gardens, playgrounds and palatial stadiums. Although it was known as the gentleman's game, a large number of women's teams have been formed and are playing cricket across the world. As mentioned above, cricket is the most popular sport in Asia with India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh being some of the strongest professional cricket teams in the world. Almost all popular teams have won the cricket world cup at one time or another in the past few decades. Each team has a total of eleven players. The players need a cricket kit including but not limited to bats, ball, stumps, knee pads, helmets etc. In certain countries, cricket players are given celebrity status and earn millions of dollars per year in product endorsements etc.

Over the years, this sport has evolved. Before 1990s, cricket used to have a four ball over which was then changed to a six ball over. Eight ball overs were also tried in some countries. Earlier test matches were way more popular than one day matches and Twenty20 cricket which is a more recent phenomenon. Although each country has its own cricket board (such as Pakistan Cricket Board, Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sri Lanka Cricket, and Cricket Australia etc.) to oversee the national team's performance and ensure fair selection processes etc, International Cricket Council (ICC) is the body that performs the same functions at global level.

ICC was founded in 1909 and is responsible for all decisions regarding matches (between international and sometimes national teams), venues for major matches and tournaments like the World Cup etc. There are a number of clubs that play matches against each other often. English county cricket is a classic example of matches played between such clubs.

Party Themes For 12 Year Olds

Turning 12 years old is something your child looks forward to. It is the period of being in-between. Your child is no longer a child but is also one year shy from becoming a teenager.

Your child will only turn twelve once in his life. Give him a party to celebrate this joyous occasion. It is important that at this age, you ask your child on the kind of party he or she wants. After all, being twelve, the child already had developed his or her own interests. He is old enough to be included in the decision making process of the upcoming party.

Most 12 year old girls would prefer pajama parties or slumber parties for their birthdays. Others will request for a pool party with their classmates and friends. However, there are those who would like to treasure their last day as a child and go for the child-like theme parties.

For pool parties, it will be easier to rent a clubhouse or a hotel as a venue. Ask the guests to bring their own swim wears. And make sure to be compliant to the rules and regulations of the rented venue.

Another idea is to have a beauty pageant theme. The guests can also be the participants of the pageant. At twelve, these girls already love to dress up and starting to develop their own unique identities already.

For boys, here are some party theme ideas. The Knight Party is done in a venue that looks like a castle. Put shield and sword-shaped cut-outs onto the walls, making it look like a castle or a castle hallway. Improvised helmets and shields can be given to guests instead of the traditional party hats. There can also be a cake that resembles a castle with cone-shaped roofs and flags, as well as brick walls.

For activities, you can have a princess or a knight makeover station where guests can come for them to look like a knight in shining armor for the male ones, and a glamorous princess for the females.

The Army Party can resemble a military base or camp site where soldiers train. The wall of the venue is green or camouflaged, similar to the print of a soldier's uniform. You can also use images of bunkers, watchtowers and barbed wires to add to the army or soldier effect. The cake should have a soldier figurine with military vehicle toys or miniature replicas on it.

Guests may wear paper soldier helmets as a replacement for party hats. Roast food similar to what military people eat on camps. Snacks suck as cookies, candies and biscuits can be shaped like bombs, guns or little soldiers. Games may include a crawling race or a tug-o-war. For giveaways, it can be soldier figurines, toy tanks or army badge replicas.

The Airplane Party theme is a good choice for a birthday party for boys. Starting with the invitation, it should appear like an airplane ticket or an airline brochure. The venue's walls should have cloud images to create a sky ambiance. Hang airplane scale models in the ceiling to create an accent and serve as an added attraction for the guests. The cake can be likened to an airplane also, or designed with clouds. You can also serve white cotton candy that looks like clouds. Giveaways can be airplane toy figures or stuffed toys.

Field Hockey Warm-Up Drills

Before starting any sports practice or game, you must make sure to run a thorough warm-up that gets players both physically and mentally ready to play. A good warm-up routine includes both a cardiovascular component such as running and a series of stretches that highlight the muscles used most during the sport in question.

The following field hockey warm-up drills are an excellent addition to any warm-up routine since they emphasize the basic skills of the game while getting the joints moving and the blood flowing to avoid later injury.

One thing I've noticed in my years of coaching field hockey is that players hate running laps. So at our field hockey practices we've replaced running laps with a 5-minute long version of freeze tag. Tag is an excellent way to get players running around while keeping their minds more active than if they were simply running laps around the field.

After the cardiovascular section of your warm-up is completed, it is time for the stretching. I like to start off with head rolls and neck stretches and make my way down. If you have no experience leading a stretching routine, don't hesitate to contact other coaches or a certified yoga instruction for some guidance on which stretches are not to be missed for your field hockey team.

Hits and Misses

Once you've finished stretching your team's muscles, it is time to begin the field hockey warm-up drills. When selecting drills for your warm-up, look for simple drills that emphasize the basic skills of the game without pushing players too far--save that for the conditioning drills!

The first warm-up drill I like to use at my field hockey practices is a basic hitting drill, since the hit is hockey's most basic and useful skill. For this hitting drill, I divide my team into partners and have them stand facing each other 10 feet apart to start off with.

When running this and all other warm-up drills, the emphasis is on perfect form. For example, when hitting it is important to make sure the player's hands are firmly together near the top of the stick. Use the hands and wrists to bring the stick backwards, and the goal should be to hit the lower half of the ball when the stick is brought back down. Don't forget to follow though with the stick after the hit is completed. Another thing to remember is to keep the feet parallel to the direction you want the ball to go.

I have my players hit back and forth for 2 minutes at this distance, then I blow my whistle and have each player back up one giant step, repeating this process two more times before moving on to the next drill.

Push Pass Perfection

The next of the field hockey warm-up drills focuses on the push pass, which is a better way than hitting for moving the ball over large distances. Using the same partners as before, have your players stand anywhere from 20 to 40 feet apart and push pass to each other.

The form of the push pass differs slightly from that of the hit. For the push pass, players are to place their left hand near the top of the stick with the right hand further down. Keeping their eye on the ball with their knees bent, players are to shift their weight from the back foot to the front as contact is made with the ball. As with the hit, make sure to follow through completely. The follow through is complete when the stick is pointing towards the direction of the pass.

Metal Detectors For Sale - Will You Be Ripped Off?

Currently there is a vast range of metal detectors for sale. The wide choice is particularly overwhelming if you are a beginner. Because they all look very much the same, they probably all perform with similar results, correct? Incorrect!

Each metal detector will be manufactured with a special role in mind. So how are you supposed to pick the ideal detector?

To avoid wasting your hard-earned money on a metal detector that won't do what you need you should consider the following 3 fundamental points:

What are you trying to detect?
Each metal detector will do better at certain tasks than others. For instance, although you may use a gold nugget metal detector to also search for coins (and vice versa), you will have far more success by using a metal detector that was specifically designed for that goal. Firstly, you need to consider what is the major goal or target.

  • Is your planned interest searching for coins and jewelry? You should buy a metal detector that comes with discrimination.

  • Or maybe your goal is digging up historical artifacts or war relics? You will want a detector with excellent depth and large searchcoils.

  • Got gold fever, and desire a metal detector to discover gold nuggets? A detector that features ground balancing is critical.

What location will you be hunting?
Individual models will perform differently according to the type of ground. Will you detect in demanding grounds like saltwater beaches or heavily mineralized ground? These ground types often cause some metal detectors to respond poorly and beep uncontrollably. So you need to get one designed for those conditions.

Maybe you want to be detecting shipwrecks? Many metal detectors feature waterproof coils (the disc that points to the ground) but their housings and electronics aren't waterproof unless specifically stated. So if you want to be discovering submersed treasure you need to buy a specially-designed underwater detector.

How much will you spend?
Now that you have established your main goals and locations you should shortlist the metal detectors for sale that are suitable. Finally, merely go through your shortlist to find the model that suits your budget. Once more, this should be your last step because unless you have determined your goals it is impossible to choose the correct metal detector.

Now you have learned to avoid wasting your money by picking out the right metal detector for the task. When reviewing metal detectors for sale you merely want to think about what your target is, the grounds you will be using, and the price of the detector.

But one question remains - finding the best metal detector for your purpose and desired price? Great news - we have created Buyer Guides to help you out.

If you are looking for a beach metal detector or a gold metal detector, or something else, just go through our Metal Detector Buyer Guides and get your perfect match!

Sports Nudity Bloopers

Who doesn't love watching athletes making mistakes? The media holds them up as gods and goddesses immaculate in their ways and the more fervent fans literally worship the sneakers they walk in. Some fans take sports too seriously. Other fans watch sports to catch those moments where the athletes are seriously embarrassed.

You can keep your mundane bloopers where the ball bounces of the head of the outfielder or the receiver tumbles into the opposing side's coach. The bloopers that can be truly harrowing to the athlete are the ones where flesh is shone. The sports nudity bloopers are the most embarrassing form of messing up on the field and each rare moment in which it happens takes egos down several pegs.

The events most likely to produce some sports nudity bloopers are the most physical and intense until something pops out. Men's soccer has a high probability of revealing more than the black and white checkered balls. Although a game played primarily with the feet, soccer players and not afraid to swing an elbow or grab a handful of shirt in order to seize the ball. Players soon hit the turf and start reaching around for anything on the way down, usually the shorts of the opposing player who while winning the ball pays for it in pride.

Another event infamous for its sports nudity bloopers is the one that claims to be the most manly: rodeo. The self-proclaimed cowboys tie themselves to a horse or bull for some eight seconds, get thrown off, and then have the nerve to talk trash about every other sport out there. Rodeo is the deadliest sport around because the whole idea is to survive several seconds tied to a one ton animal trying everything it can to drive a hoof through your face or a horn through your stomach. When errant horns or a horse's teeth start ripping clothes, there is no doubt that you have to be nuts to get into rodeo, but you also risk showing the world that not everything is big in Texas.

Women try hardest to maintain grace in sports by wearing sports bras and shorts. The extra support makes the inevitable slip all the more degrading when it happens. Women sweat through their pants in tennis and reveal a lot in gymnastics, but what if you want to see what's hidden behind the over-engineered, space-age material? Any sport with grappling such as mixed martial arts, judo, and wrestling have a high chance of a shirt getting pulled to the side and something popping out. If you're aiming to catch a flash, then cheerleading is where to look.

Cheerleaders are notorious for tantalizing the audience. Some teams go so far as to demand members remove their pants before hitting the field and show a bit more than spirit. You might think that wouldn't count as one of sports nudity bloopers, but I assure you those girls are coerced by peer and coach alike. Shameful and therefore funny.
