Your Sports Apparel is Your Personal Statement

What's new in Sports apparel?

Apparently, just that there is a lot more of it around! As it has been for a while now, wearing sports apparel is quite popular. Some people only wear the gear from one or two teams while others have an entire wardrobe full of every team and state in the nation. Whether it is the colors or team spirit, we may never know, but sportswear is still "in." Remember back in the day when it was primarily hats/caps that were worn? Not anymore! There are shirts, tee-shirts, jerseys, caps, hats, and even accessories to go along with every sports team you can think of.

From coast to coast there is a wide variety of followers for any given team. You might see people with Chicago hats in Florida or you might see a Kansas NCAA cap in South Carolina. What it all boils down to is a combination of popular style and team spirit. There are plenty that fall into either category. There are few sports left out as the MLB, NCAA, NFL, and NBA all have lines of sports clothing available and believe me, it is being bought!

Sports are big business in the US at any level. Don't think that the teams aren't making money off of their licensed logos that adorn all of this sports apparel, because they do. More than that, though, is that the people have chosen a style. Wearing sports clothing is trendy, socially acceptable by most standards and popular. It is so popular that you would be hard pressed NOT to find a sports apparel store in any mall. More often than not there are several.

One thing that is fairly new is having the logos of the teams but not the colors. Maybe they did it to attract more women to wearing sports wear, but there are a lot of pink shirts and hats out there with every licensed logo you can think of. Also, for a while, New York had this pale blue color on a lot of the clothing, hats and tee shirts especially. That threw some folks for a while. The logo and the colors didn't add up but somehow it all worked out. What is important is that what the people want is sports apparel and that is exactly what they are getting. Whether your taste is more toward the traditional or the modern there is no need to worry because you will be able to find it.

Team spirit? Logo loyalty? Color craze? Who knows, but its working! The people are happy, the stores are happy and the sports franchises are happy. You even see the gear from teams you never used to see before, like the Tigers. Yes, they have been around for a long time, but you just didn't used to see so many people wearing their clothing. Perhaps there will be more of that in the future. Athletic teams who have gotten little exposure before will suddenly be seen in all of the sportswear shops. How refreshing!

Sports Apparel - Pick Your Team and Show Your Colors!

What's your favorite sports apparel?

Oh, come on, you probably have a lucky Yankees hat or maybe an LA jersey that is your absolute favorite. Most people do. It's pretty interesting to see all of the different sports apparel that is available today. It's also interesting to see all of the different types of people wearing them. What used to be a "man thing" has grown into a universal thing that has men, women, young, old and even babies donning sports apparel of all kinds.

People from Carolina to Los Angeles and everywhere in between are buying hats, jerseys, tee shirts and even sports related accessories. It seems everyone has a favorite team that they want to support. It doesn't even necessarily have to be their local team! Take a look around some day while walking down the street or in a local shop. Notice how many people have on at least ONE item that is sports related.

It isn't just the big league teams getting the attention either. You can find NCAA apparel everywhere now days. That is especially true in places like Florida, Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado and other places that have loyal fan bases.

The NFL has a huge following and believe me, there is sports apparel for their fans too! The most popular item for the NFL fanatics seems to be the jerseys. MLB; hats and jerseys are the most popular items. Oh, and of course there are the shoes. Reebok even has sports lines. Jackets are pretty popular too. There is no getting around it, sports apparel isn't going to fade as a fad anytime soon. In fact, by this time it's not a fad at all but more the norm. Sports apparel may well become the "What was worn" of the 1990's into the 2000's.

You know, kids could get a real geography lesson by just keeping up with the different states and names they see on the sports gear worn by those around them. Seattle, Minnesota, Carolina, Chicago, New York...and the list goes on. Who knows, sports apparel can be the next big teaching tool.

Prices vary on the different sports wear that is available but all in all, it is pretty reasonable. Depending on where you shop, of course! Stores try to keep their racks and shelves stacked with the most popular and you can usually find all of the teams at specialty sportswear shops.

Game days are interesting. Everyone dons their team apparel for game day regardless of whether they are going to the game or not. You can see babies with tiny team cheerleader outfits on or grand parents with their tee shirts or caps proudly displaying their team spirit. Of course, some areas have more than one team so the population is divided. Still, team spirit is team spirit! There doesn't seem to be much coNFLict though, as long as you are supporting one team or another. Of course that may not be the case when we are talking about, say, Boston and New York!

Sports Apparel [http://www.colorsandstripes.com/College-Apparel.html] is getting bigger and bigger. Pick your team in the MLB [http://www.colorsandstripes.com/MLB-Apparel.html] and show your true colors at Colors and Stripes!

Collecting Sports Memorabilia Football Gear Apparel Is The Way to Show Your True Passion As a Fan

Collecting sports memorabilia football gear and apparel is a growing hobby among football enthusiasts in the United States and around the world. After all football is king in this country. Whether you love professional football (the NFL) or college football, it doesn't matter. It wasn't long ago that the NBA dominated the sports world in the 80's and 90's and Major League Baseball before that in the 70's and really for the past century before that. But now it's all about football- it rules the sports world.

Football is king is terms of viewership, passionate fans, attendance, and of course sports memorabilia football collectibles, as in merchandise sales. Football fans are extremely passionate, way more than any other sport, and they want to show their commitment and loyalty to their team by displaying their gear. Whether it's wearing jerseys, t-shirts, hats, etc, or having a man-cave at home with all your favorite collectibles like fat-heads, mugs, decorations, etc, fans like to show off their team spirit with their memorabilia and apparel.

Let's take a look at some of the top collected memorabilia

1. Jerseys and Jersey T-shirts- Football jerseys are a huge seller. Look around at any football game whether you are attending a college game or an NFL game or even watching one of these games on TV, and you will see jerseys worn by fans by the thousands. They are everywhere. This is the number one way to show your fan loyalty at the games or even watching the game on your couch at home.

2. Hats are another great way to express your fandom. These can be your traditional baseball caps with your favorite NFL or college team logo on them, or it can be snow hats (beanies), or helmets, or if you are in Green Bay - the cheese head hat. Hats are relatively inexpensive so they are easy collect and most fans have an assortment of hats. Plus they keep your head warm during the cold games during the fall season.

3. Collecting Sports memorabilia football apparell isn't the only way to express your passion as a fan. If you're like me, you are more interested in collectible items like mugs, wall decorations, furniture with your team logo on it, little trinkets to put on your shelf, autographed balls, photo's, and cards, bumper stickers, toys, picture frames, foam fingers, game programs, ticket stubs, or really just anything that has your team logo on it.

This kind of stuff is fun to display in your home, in or on your car or truck, or in your office at work. This lets everyone know around you who you root for and there is no double about it. It also makes for interesting conversation when someone asks "where did you find that...." especially for those rare little items that are hard to find and get.

Memorabilia autographs are another hot topic for true sports memorabilia football collectors. These are rare items and often carry monetary value associated with them. They are often obtained by either lucky fans who were in the right place at the right time, someone who knows the athlete and got the autographed item, or by an individual who was willing to pay a hefty price to get these memorabilia autographs from someone in one of those first two categories.

Whether you have a few things or a huge collection of sport memorabilia football gear or apparel, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't define you passion as a true fan. But it is just fun to collect these items and show off who you root for.

Choosing The Right Sports Gear And Apparel

As Reese Witherspoon's character in Legally Blonde says "Endorphins make you happy." This statement propelled a lot of people to get into sports because aside from exercise sports also produce endorphins. In this increasingly cynic world, we all need a dose of endorphins to keep us in within a positive perspective.

There are so many sports to choose from so there is no excuse to get into sports. The perpetual I can't can be eradicated when you are staring at hundreds of sports up for bid. The key here is to try and try until you find that one perfect sport that you will be so passionate about. In the end, more than the endorphins that will make you happy you will thank your chosen sport for an overall better life.

It all starts with trying out a sport. You can try it alone or drag along a few willing friends to make it more fun. If it does not work the first time then try it for one more time, if it still doesn't give you the kind of passion you want to feel then move to another sport. If club hopping ahs become such a phenomenon then why not sports hopping. Eventually there will be that one sport that no matter how sore your body feels can still leave you wanting for more. When you have done hat, it is time to look for the right sports gear and sports apparel.

Just like in business, you have to suit up for when you got to the local gym or the health club. So look around and observe what the other people are wearing. If you like what you see and want to be safe then buy exactly the same set but try to accentuate it with your own touch by choosing more vibrant colors for instance.

The most important thing is that you choose a comfortable sports apparel so it would be easier to do those winning moves. As for purchasing the right sports gears, you might have to check with your trainer or any person knowledgeable about the sport you want to pursue before making a purchase.

Sports gear affect a performance a lot so buy those that are right for your level anyway you can always advance in terms of capability and by then you can already spend more gears because of more intricate technologies needed.

The Top Five Reasons Sports Apparel Is Growing

The sports apparel business has become one of the more competitive retail industries over the past 20 years. This can be attributed to many factors. Some say it is the growing interest in the games by the younger generation. Other are convinced that it is the "Cool Factor" to be associated with a particular team. Here is my take on the top five reasons.

Reason one...ESPN has given us complete and total access to each and every sport. Professional and collegiate alike, ESPN is wall to wall sports and has been for the past couple decades. Personalities such as Chris Berman and Dan Patrick have made it fun to simply watch highlights, Sportscenter. Who would have ever thought 30 years ago that what was once a 3-4 minute segment of the news, now would have a channel devoted to sports and that channel would run thirty, sixty, and one hundred twenty minute sports highlight shows,

Reason two...The National Football League (NFL) has grown to iconic levels in this country. The Super Bowl is the single most viewed annual event on American television. Supporting your favorite teams and showing your colors is far more popular than ever. Millions of people have Super Bowl parties wearing their favorite teams' apparel. Whether you are a fan or not, it's what you wear at these parties.

Reason three...It is a fun business for an entrepreneur to be involved. Sports businesses in general are fun to own and operate. Because of the allure to be associated in some manner in sports, owning a sports apparel store make the owner feel a bit closer to the game. The stores are generally bright and lively and the mood in the stores is typically upbeat.

Reason four...The Cool Factor! Countless millions of sports fans buy team apparel to be part of the crowd they run with. From oversized baseball jerseys to team hats made out of any assortment of colors, it is sheik to be seen in the trendy sports apparel. You can get a Cincinnati Reds hat in as many as five different colors. The people that buy these hats do not care so much about the team. It's a fashion statement they are making.

Reason five...The almighty dollar! Although there is extreme competition in this industry, it is all about the money for many store owners. The margins in this industry are large. The guesswork on teams is not very difficult. Stocking the right products is relatively simple. The sports apparel industry is so competitive because so many owners are making money. Until the gravy train decides to slow down, don't look for many owners to get off the train.

More and more sports apparel franchises are bound to open up at your local mall. It is not a fad, sports apparel is here to stay. It's a fun business and always seems to have something newsworthy to talk about.

For the store owners, sit back and enjoy the ride. And for the rest of you wanting to get into the industry, find a good location and join the fun.

Football Apparel Through the Years

Football apparel has changed dramatically since its early days in the 1800s. There was a time when teams didn't even wear matching shirts - they simply showed up in what they had available and kept track of teammates by face instead of by number. Through the decades, the ideas of football uniform designs have undergone several distinct changes. Patterns, colors, and fabrics have also seen dramatic changes since the earliest days of the sport. The original ragtag mob of football players has evolved into the polished, high-tech fashions of today.

The Early Days
When football apparel first began to be organized and developed, it was a pretty practical affair. Players were expected to purchase their own kits, so the materials were relatively inexpensive, and there was no real uniform look between different teams. The creative diversity of today's football kits are direct descendants of this early period when the uniform qualified as long as each team had a distinct look. Bright colors were used so that teams could quickly identify one another across the large pitch, and the vertical stripe pattern that was so common was mainly to differentiate football teams from the horizontal stripes of rugby teams.

Post-War Woes
After World War II, European football teams did not have the resources to create new football apparel. Rationing during and after the war meant that fabric was scarce, so the teams worked with the materials they could come up with. Some teams wore cast offs from other sports - including sets of rugby shirts that were sometimes donated. Sometimes a philanthropic football fan would outfit his favorite team in relatively new gear that he bought and had made himself. Eventually the economy of Western Europe improved, and football teams could afford to outfit themselves in their own unique styles once again.

The Mid-20th Century
Football apparel went through some large shifts once manmade synthetic materials became available. One of the most noticeable differences was that players began to wear their names across their back shoulders, above the numbers. The flexibility of these new materials meant that football shirt designers could create almost any color combination and pattern they could think of - and the shirts were less expensive. The 1960s and 70s were a minimalist time, so football kits were usually made from one solid color for the shirt, shorts, and socks.

Today's Trends
During the 1980s to the present day, football apparel has increased the number of complex colors and designs that are in use. Computer-themed designs are very popular. Some of the newest designs make it seem that the players are wearing armor. Some team shirts have patterns that aren't based on color, but are based on the gloss or matte effect of the material. Commercialization has also changed the designs of many football shirts. Sponsor logos are very common these days, with some teams wearing the names of their sponsors in large letters across their chests. Other teams tend toward a more conservative sponsor display, incorporating the sponsor logo into their traditional shirt designs.

Sports Apparel for Babies

Babies may not be that good yet with sports since the muscles are still developing. This hasn't deterred parents from already introducing the kid to a certain sport or favorite which in the long term will hopefully grow in the individual as a teen.

The parents can't enroll the little boy or girl yet in one of those sports clinics but can start by getting some sports apparel that can fit the baby.

These can be found in some souvenir shops, sporting goods stores, specialty stores and online. The sizes range from 12 to 18 months, which is ideal until the baby has finally become a toddler.

Most of the sports apparel is made of 100% nylon construction. The individual can choose the team that even has the player's name and number in the front and back. Since it is hard for the baby to put on, manufacturers use the easy snap closure at the bottom and on the upper left shoulder for easy access.

It even has the jock tag or the lower left front showing the sport it is in for example baseball, basketball, hockey or football which are just one of the many activities that happen all year round.

The average price for one of these shirts fetches around $32 a piece. This is because of the intricate design as well as the fabric used to make the small outfit.

Some people find this to be too expensive and will just wait for the store to go on sale or have a promotion. If waiting is not the person's forte, perhaps checking looking in some outlet stores can bring the customer some luck.

Those who are resourceful may buy it at 30 to 40% off the regular price and can even get more if this is bought in bulk.

Another place to check will be the Internet. There are online stores that sell all sorts of merchandise at rock bottom prices. This may have minor defect in the lining or somewhere but no one will notice when it is brought out and worn.

Sports apparel is available for people both young and old. The parents will just have to look around for a good bargain so that the baby can also have one. This will surely look great and catch the attention of many when the entire family goes to the stadium and roots for the home team.
